Supershapes — An Introduction |
| Supershapes is a strategic design studio. We work with communication and graphic design. We believe great work stems from a coherent cultural understanding, a truly passionate approach to design, as well as carefully crafted, well executed ideas. We develop ideas to solve communication problems in all forms of media. We help our clients define themselves — in order to act and communicate who they are in the most relevant way. |
The purpose with Supershapes is to create opportunities to do great work for our clients while simultaneously work pro-actively to develop our own products. Another important aspect of our philosphy is to share our knowledge with others, to start and facilitate a critical and creative dialogue on communication and design, what it is and how it affects everyday life. For our services, please contact us here. |

| Swedish General Elections 2006 — SVT Design Program |
![]() |
| In January 2006, Swedish Television, SVT, turned to Supershapes to art-direct and design all graphic materials needed for the 2006 Swedish General Elections. After having laid the conceptual groundwork and estabished the general identity we launched into designing all necessary materials such as, vignettes, bumpers, identification marks, election night result information graphic templates, signs and some of the studio materials. For the most part, the graphic language adheres to the general idea of choice, what is it and how does it work? We felt that choices often depends on point of view which we also included as a point of reference to work from. To produce the materials needed we found inspiration in everything from Japanese Origami, to binary code, and random chance — which we also found is a way of making choices. |

| Houdini Sportswear — Identity, Packaging, Collateral |

| Since 1993 Houdini has developed core comfort apparel, base layers closest to your body, for outdoor sports. In 1993 Houdini was first in the world with underwear in flies — then a ground-breaking material. Today Houdini is not only groundbreaking when it comes to materials and functionality. Houdini has added design to the mix, creating clothes that are not only functional enough to climb Everest, sail cross the Pacific or play a set of golf in — they are now stylish enough to wear to the bar afterwards. We have helped develop the Houdini brand into a well-known institution in the Scandinavian sports market. Today our challenge is to keep the brand exiting and adapt the marketing tools and strategies for the move to the Asian market. |

| Olympic Games Athens 2004 — SVT Design Program |

| In the Spring of 2004, Swedish Television, SVT, turned to Supershapes to see if we could art-direct and design all graphic materials needed for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Once all project parameters were set we launched into the design of the material such as, vignettes, bumpers, identification marks, text templates, signs and some of the studio material to name a few. The basic visual idea stems from the official graphic manual but has been further refined and made to fit SVT. Some of the official colors and the idea of vase chards were taken on-board - so was the idea of incorporating ancient Greek patterns, but we felt it necessary to take this graphic language further. The basic shapes needed greater refinement, making them friendlier and more metamorphic. Considering the intensity of usage we also introduced several sets of assets in different colors to make all transmissions more flexible and alive. In the weeks following completion everything was brought to life together with Micke Lindell, one of Sweden most experienced and sought after motion designers. |

| Mera — TV Show Identity |
![]() |
During the Fall of 2004 Swedish Television, together with Swedish Educational Broadcasting Company, started a knowledge centered digital channel. Within this channel all SVT's programming live under the umbrella brand Mera which translates to More in English. Within this format the there is a chance to delve deeper and each day has its specific focus such as culture on Mondays and science on Thursdays. The identity needed to cater to these differences in editorial content while also grouping the disparate topics. This commission came to us through Dallas STHLM DDG as they needed help with the art direction for the complete packaging, including vignettes, signage, credit texts, etc. |

| 68 Days — Infinity 2, Digital Vision Illustration Series |
![]() |
| 68 Days, Supershapes contribution to the Digital Vision’s Infinity 2 Series is a collection of 30 royalty free illustrations. Commissioned in the Fall of 2002, this series of illustrations is sold on one DVD with all its Photoshop layers intact. This means users can assemble the illustration the way they see fit. Creating 30 illustrations broad enough in concept and abstract enough in its representation is an arduous task. We commenced working on the title with preconceived directions in mind, but as the project progressed we were creatively released as we realized we had free reign to take these illustration wherever we wanted. This shifted our focus from the inherent possibilities embedded in software and the work found new inspiration, and paid homage to more traditional painting techniques. |
